Boston City Self Guided Walking Tour Trip Planner

This tour shows you the north side of downtown Boston including a few spots from the Freedom Trail Self Guided Walking Tour starting at the Paul Revere House, Old North Church, passing the Stadium where there is a Bobby Orr statue, heading towards the Scarlett O’hara House, Beacon Hill and ends in the Boston Public Garden. This tour takes about one hour of straight walking (no stopping for photos).

All Saints way is an alley full of.. you guessed it… All the Saints! It is locked to public now, but you can still catch glimpses on of the wall and of course, you can still take a peak at the Saints decorating the top of the door.

On the way to the Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge, you will pass by Boston’s Oldest Church the Old North Church built in 1723. This is the location which launched the beginning on the American Revolution, it is also well known for the midnight ride of Paul Revere.

The Leonard P Zakim Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge is a stunningly build bridge next to the TD Garden Stadium and sits behind the Bobby Orr winning goal statue.

West End place is a beautifully designed condominum building caught my eye as we walked along the tour.

Hidden between some of the houses on Rollins Place is the Scarlett O’hara House which is actually an optical illusion and not a house at all! Named after a character in the novel ‘Gone with the Wind’, this so called ‘house’ is actually a brick wall and the entrance way to two separate houses.

Continuing along toward Beacon Hill, the oldest neighborhood in Boston, you will soon find yourself in sloped streets lined with brick buildings and budding trees. It is also a popular shopping destination with boutiques, coffee shops and restaurants.

At the end of Charles Street in Beacon Hill, you will arrive at the Boston Public Garden. The tulips bloom and the ducklings swim in April, but that doesn’t mean that this isn’t a beautiful spot year round!

Across the Street from the Public Garden is Boston Common which is the beginning of Freedom Trail. Details on the trail found here.
